Czech School Dublin was founded in 2014 as a private initiative of two mums who were missing an institution that would offer systematic instruction to Czech-speaking children living in Ireland and that would support Czech language and culture.

The main aim of Czech School Dublin is to promote and deepen the knowledge of the Czech language among the children of Czech expats, its active usage in various situations and therefore its natural mastering. What is key is to cultivate the children’s positive attitude to their heritage language, so that they are able to accept it as a natural part of their identity, as something important and beneficial. Our educational programme presents Czech culture and history in an engaging way and helps children to build and develop a relationship to the country of their or their parents ́ origin. Our goal is to help the parents to pass on Czech cultural heritage and traditions, as well as to help develop the children’s capacity for learning about other cultures, understanding them and respecting them.
