School Year 2020/2021
In the school year 2020/2021 we are offering the following courses to Czech-speaking children: Zero(preparatory) year, 1st class, 2nd class, 3rd class, 4th class, 5th class, 6th class & 7th class. We are a non-profit organisation and are focused on teaching students about our country’s language, culture and history. We fully prepare all our students for exams in primary schools in the Czech Republic.
Our project is inspired by Czech School Without Borders and their curriculum.
The classes take place every Saturday as follows:
ZERO (PREPARATORY) YEAR - CHILDREN 5 - 6 YEARS
Besides working on communication and language skills, in this group we also add lots of activities developing sensory perception and pre-reading skills. We concentrate on practicing the correct pencil grip and fine motor skills. All of this is based on Czech cultural realia, traditions and customs.
FIRST CLASS
Czech language(in accordance with the MEYS education program curriculum) and elementary studies, with a focus on reading comprehension, cursive writing and expanding the vocabulary.
SECOND CLASS
Czech language(in accordance with the MEYS education program curriculum) and elementary studies, with a focus on further expansion of the vocabulary, reading comprehension, grammar and cursive writing.
THIRD CLASS
Czech language(in accordance with the MEYS education program curriculum) and elementary studies. Czech language: further expansion of the vocabulary, reading comprehension, grammar and cursive writing. Elementary studies: basic Czech cultural, historical and geographical realia.
FOURTH CLASS
Czech language(in accordance with the MEYS education program curriculum), history and geography. Czech language: deepening understanding of Czech grammar, writing styles, reading comprehension, Czech literature and book reviews. History & geography: Czech historical events, map orientation and Czech districts.
FIFTH CLASS
Czech language(in accordance with the MEYS education program curriculum), history and geography. Czech language: deepening understanding of Czech grammar, writing styles, reading comprehension, Czech literature and book reviews. History & geography: Czech historical events to present day, map orientation and a focus on specific districts.
SIXTH CLASS
Second level of Czech language(in accordance with the MEYS education program curriculum) and history.
SEVENTH CLASS
Second level of Czech language(in accordance with the MEYS education program curriculum) and history.
In the primary school classes, we teach Czech grammar and composition, from the fourth year up we incorporate also Czech history and geography based on the Primary Schools Curriculum recommended by the Czech Department of School and Education.
School fee: €12 for the lesson (35 lessons in the school year), 20% discount for the second child
Children from Czech School Dublin can attend after school activities such as the Choir singing and Drama class. (TEMPORARILY CANCELLED)
